Maybe you should just wait and let alfred decide instead of spamming now. Will everyone please be less argumentative, this is a public bug tracker not a forum. I mean sure you can change it yourself, but what about new players who don't know about that stuff? Anyway it would still be nice if the interp value could be set automatically. Anything is better than 0. I propose a new default of 0. I think still in theory the game should support 0.
This is because the engine tries to interpolate certain types of entities. It uses the last 2 position history entries to interpolate, and if FPS is very high those history entries will fall within the 0.
At FPS all 64 history entries fall within 0. Skip to content. Star 2. Code Issues Pull requests Security Insights. New issue. Jump to bottom. Labels reviewed. Linked pull requests. Quake, the game engine that was used to make Half-Life and in turn CS was created using the same engine. Quake has rates too! And in fact the max rate on Quake is This is why today most players use a rate of This is wrong.
People also say "rate is for LAN and is for online", wrong again. When you play on LAN rate does nothing at all, in fact you could have rate set to and it would have no effect on LAN. So all the players thinking they have been playing with a rate of on LAN are wrong, you have been playing with all along.
Best Setting: Cmdrate is data that you SEND to the server, so every time you shoot, walk, move your mouse, anything, cmdrate uploads data. This can be seen by net graph. Red dots appear at the bottom when data is not sent because your cmdrate is not high enough.
Red dots at bottom of net graph showing unsent data. However, the server registered your shot as a headshot because you shot at the actual position of the head.
This could be considered as an interp shot. This is an example of a delayed shot and it has nothing to do with interp. This may have been caused due to a plethora of issues. These are NOT interp shots. Here goes the answer to legendary "whats the best interp?
But now it is not, because since the valve update interp has little to do with anything. There really are other things you should be concerned about like teamwork and strategies because I think I'm able to say this I can't think of any CS teams in SL at the moment who know what they are doing.

April in General Competitive Discussion. So if lower values for interp are more desirable, do people play with choppy model motion?
Is the picture choppy because of my system or because of Steam? And as kind of a followup on that last question, isn't that considered "bad hit registration"? Anyone know for sure?
