How many combo points do i have

All cool, i am not complainig… Just as i said… I was curious as i cannot remember it being the same in OG classic… I just need to get used to it! One of the weirdest interaction… If you DISTRACT a target, like a patrol that is close to aggroing while fighting another mob, even without switching targets, you lose your combopoints.

Classic CP system is absolute balls. For example, the corehounds in mc deselect when they die, but are still attachable due to the revive mechanic. In regards to combo points, builders and finishers and losing said points when changing target - yeah it is the same.

This means no wasted energy spent on overkill damage or a DoT that wont tick as the target is already dead. I would understand that if i use a CP builder ability on another target then it disapears from initial target… Same happens if i use Focus kick… i keep the same target… i kick the focus guy with a macro focus kick… And Cp disapear… Maybe this is working as intended therefore i am just checking.

Unique to the rogue class and druids in [ Cat Form ] , combo points are a secondary resource accumulated as certain special attacks are performed against an enemy, then spent on other special attacks. The number of combo points obtained is represented by red circles beneath the character's energy bar in the UI.

The maximum possible is 5 combo points. Attacks which generate combo points are sometimes referred to as 'builders', and attacks which consume combo points are referred to as finishing moves or 'finishers'. The more combo points the player has built up, the greater the effect of the finishing move, with a roughly proportionate increase per point consumed.

Finishing moves cannot be used without at least one combo point, and using a finishing moves will consume all available combo points. Mists of Tirna Scithe. Sanguine Depths. Spires of Ascension. The Necrotic Wake. Theater of Pain.

Most importantly, you need to plan ahead and make sure you can hit a target for the full duration of Symbols of Death , Shadow Dance and Flagellation.

It is crucial that you know how to get the most out of your cooldowns and there are some important boxes you can check when analyzing your own gameplay:. If you can manage all this it means you are understanding when you can use cooldowns on any given fight and how to get the most out of them.

In AoE you want to use Shuriken Tornado on cooldown, but you have to consider your energy levels. Make sure you have Symbols of Death ready, that way you can use Shuriken Tornado into Symbols of Death , removing the need for pooling energy.

A big part of this specs playstyle revolves around CDR mechanics. The way it works is that every combo point you spend reduces the cooldown of Shadow Dance by 1.

You get this from the Deepening Shadows passive and Enveloping Shadows talent. I mentioned a snowball effect earlier in this guide and the CDR mechanics of Subtlety is the reason why it exists.
